My short story written in class yesterday. The first line was given btw.
The knife was embedded deep in his chest. Fresh, bright red blood gushing out of her worst enemy’s chest. Seeing the soul leaving his body and his tortured look before his death was the best scene she ever saw.

Before this, Summer had never thought this would ever happen to her. She was always the girl in the background. No one notices her. She never breaks school rules, never even handed her work in late. She was just an ordinary girl with an ordinary life.

Up until when she was ten years old. She found out a very disturbing truth. Her mother was cheating on her father. Maybe it wasn’t such a big deal, but to an innocent ten years old, it was. Summer had always wondered who was her mother talking to late at night or in the early mornings, or when her mother receives a package with fancy clothes and stuff, or even when her mother says she was going for a business trip. Although her mother did a good job covering everything, Summer always suspected something. Maybe it was because she was her mother’s daughter, she knows her mother particularly better.

One day curiosity got the better of Summer. She decided to face her fear and find out the truth about her mother’s affair. She had kept telling herself, she was thinking too much and that her mother had and always will stay loyal to her father. But a strange, overwhelming feeling tells her the opposite.

During midnight, she crept into her parent’s room and took her mother’s cell phone out from underneath her mother’s pillow. Summer had always felt the vibration of the phone coming from underneath her mother’s pillow when she was younger. It was the place where her mother had thought would be safe from any curious hands. Not any longer.

While she read the text messages, she cried. Her suspicion was all true. Since then, every time she hears her mother on the phone, or when her mother treats her father particularly lovingly, her heart breaks that much more and she will cry herself to sleep. Night after night she cried streams of tears that will never dry. Or that’s what she thought.

When the phone calls and ‘business trips’ got more frequent, her patience ran out. Summer had been holding back for 5 years now. For those 5 years, her life had been hell. The life that she knew had changed forever. She had to wear a mask, to show that everything’s fine. The harder she laughed on the outside, the harder she cried on the inside. She couldn’t take it any longer. She confronted her mother. Her mother’s words were like sharp knifes piercing through her heart, tearing her apart. Those words ‘I love David. I don’t care whatever you or your father thinks or feels! I had enough of both of you! You’re my daughter! You’re supposed to support me! If not, just deal with it!’ she will forever remember.

From then on, her heart was as cold as ice. She never cried any longer, which was what that leads her to this situation. A knife dripping with blood in her bloody hands. A tortured corpse of the man that ruined her life right before her, soaked with blood. Her mother screaming somewhere in the room. Looking at her masterpiece, Summer smiled, imagining the man’s pain before his death. She thought ‘They forced me! I didn’t have a choice! They forced me! They forced me…’
